When I started working on launching Nutrition University, I was on the phone with a friend discussing the current state of fitness and nutrition advertising. As we lamented the “Get your body bikini ready in just 6 weeks” rhetoric, she stopped our conversation. “You know what Ginny? F**k the bikinis! I Don’t Want Diabetes.”
This simple sentenece (or two) completely encapsulated what my clients have been saying to me for years. My friend has a gift for this kind of thing. This has now become the battle cry for the women I work with.
Do they never want to wear a bikini again? Maybe. But wearing a bikini is not the priority. Being skinny is not the priority. Being vibrantly healthy is the priority. Walking or exercising without pain is a priority. Reducing or eliminating medications that are trying to fix the consequences of an unhealthy lifestyle is a priority. Losing weight as a consequence of taking healthier actions is what they’re searching for.
That’s what Nutrition University is all about. Creating life-long, sustainable, healthy habits that yield life and body-changing results.
